Synthpop band Cobra Starship have recruited singer/rapper Sabi for ‘You Make Me Feel…,’ a new track from their upcoming album ‘Night Shades.’

Backed up by a simple beat and minimal synth arrangement, charismatic frontman Gabe Saporta sings about finding the girl he’s been missing:

“Girl, I’ve been all over the world looking for you / I’m known for taking what I think I deserve, and you’re overdue.”

Sabi, a newcomer who scored her first big break by rapping on the Britney Spears track ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful’ from ‘Femme Fatale,’ provides the chorus and the “na-na-na-na-na” melody that carries the song as Saporta sings “You make me feel that…,” but never quite finishes the thought.

‘You Make Me Feel…’ is more understated than some of the group’s previous work, but it feels like a potential summer hit.

MTV Shows

On select dates of Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour, which kicks off next month with opening act Nicki Minaj, look for the singer to be joined by her “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” collaborator, Sabi. The fledgling rapper/singer dished about the gig to MTV News on Wednesday night at a private event hosted by Spears to benefit the St. Bernard Project, charity that aids Hurricane Katrina victims.

Sabi revealed that, first up, she’ll appear in Los Angeles this Saturday at KIIS-FM’s annual Wango Tango concert, which Spears will co-host. “That’s this week and when Britney goes on tour, I’ll be doing a couple shows, like L.A., Las Vegas and New York,” explained Sabi. “So that’s kind of what’s going on right now.”

While Spears has been busy prepping for the tour, Sabi has yet to hit up rehearsals with the femme fatale herself. “No [I haven't rehearsed yet]. I’ve been rehearsing for Wango Tango,” she said. “I don’t know [what will happen up there], I’m just excited. I’m gonna go and just kill it. You don’t get this type of opportunity all the time, so I’m just ready to go kill it.”

Sabi says that since Spears’ album dropped earlier this year, she’s been enjoying more and more visibility in the pop music world. And she is not complaining at all.

“Life’s been increasingly busy since then,” she explained. “Before, it was kind of like working, but it’s a slow grind and now things are coming to [fruition]. So it’s dope, ’cause this is what I wanted. I wanted to get to that level where I’m able to make really serious moves for my career and I’m here now, so it’s dope.”

Welcome to Sabi Daily! Your first fansite for the up and coming singer/rapper Sabi. We still have a lot of work to do, but for now I’ll post some information and news on Sabi!

Up-and-coming raptress Sabi, who scored her first big break on the music scene by rapping on Britney Spears’ “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” song from her “Femme Fatale” album, performed a mini-concert at KIIS FM’s Wango Tango festival over the weekend in Los Angeles, not at the Staples Center, but at an outside stage, probably for those less known artists. Sabi’s gig consisted of two tracks; of course “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” and her new buzz single “Goodnight” (see below).

Sabi is cute! And I think she may be in for a succesful career if she keeps recording this catchy rap/pop cuts. The collaboration with Cobra Starship “You Make Me Feel” is an example. It’s a banger! And Sabi shows she also has a good studio (singing) voice (although with some auto-tune help). Anyhow, check out Sabi in the video above doing “(Drop Dead) Beautiful”. She mimed some of Britney’s parts as she had the brilliant idea to play the song from the beginning, meaning she had to kill time dancing and hyping the crowd until her rap verse got in. And yes, she rapped that already classic ‘vegetables’ verse.

Boy, boy look at you, I wanna get, get, get next to you, Got me kinda hot but I ain’t sweating you, Steaming like a pot full of vegetables.
